The more seriously we take our idle yakk (especially if it's opinionated or hypocritical,) the better the material. Consider those times at your place of work when you're stuck with some especially skill-demanding task and you're suddenly surrounded by kibbitzers and armchair critics who think they know everything, give you tons of "advice," and don't have to take responsibility for the outcome of what you're trying to accomplish. Kibbitzers & armchair critics need a good kick in the ass, or sumpthin' -- if not to smarten them up, at least to get 'em to back off and let a person do his/her thing in peace. The Rat is The Paradigm. -- Andre Jute That would make a good title for a King Krimson tune. Speaking of which, you know those summer days when you've got a big, big, blue sky overhead, and everything is warm and wonderful? I bet King Krimson's "The Sheltering Sky" from their album: Discipline, would make a good riding tune. I'd sandwich it between Psycho Killer, and No Compassion from the Talking Heads' '77 album. Maybe also throw in Alice Cooper's: Lost in America, which is so latter-day rockabilly. Hoo boy, do I ever destest these colder months. And it's gonna get worse before it gets better. Oh, well. cheers, Tom -- "'Confusion' shall be my epitaph" I'm really at: tkeats curlicue vcn dot bc dot ca |
