Default Giant XTC2 Disc vs Avanti Hammer

About to buy one of the two.
The Giant is about $200 cheaper.
Aside from that, can anyone suggest why I should buy one over the other?

Also, is it THAT hard to put racks on a bike with disc brakes?

scroll down to link for Old Man Mountain

for their suspension front rack. The Cargo rear rack may also be able to be
modified to fit to/around a disc mount (voiding all warranties) as it is
tubular steel. Verrry strong and available from St Kilda Cycles in
Melbourne.

Cheers

The Giant frame is one of the lightest around.
