Survey for Commuters and Practical Riders
http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/?p=WEB22942Y7R2KR
It is with great enthusiasm I am posting a link to a survey on practical bicycling. As an unemployed marketing professional with a passion for cycling, I am conducting this study. I'm a fervent advocate, decent mechanic, sloppy wheelbuilder and near-daily rider. The objective of this study is to better understand practical / commuter cycling category. I am looking for some back-up to my assumption that this is a growth category. Perhaps I can find an opportunity to share some learnings with the industry in order to help grow it. You'll have to make a leap of faith that my motives are clean and that I would truly love to see practical cycling increase in popularity. I'm looking to understand what, how and why we ride for practical and transportation reasons. This should only take about ten minutes. HERE IS THE LINK http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/?p=WEB22942Y7R2KR Huge Thanks!! Nick P. Chicago, IL |

We've been through this before. They can't tell when I bike in or when I take the car. They have to ask. But they _can_ tell when I ride the motorcycle, because I carry a helmet up to the office with me. - Frank Krygowski |

HERE IS THE LINK http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/?p=WEB22942Y7R2KR Huge Thanks!! Nick P. Chicago, IL Sorry Nick. I got though about 3 pages of the questionnaire and realized that I don't know the answers to most of the questions. My technical knowledge of cycles is close to zero and so I have no idea of what components are on my bike, etc. I ride it, usually between 2 -5k km per year for commuting and recreation but if it's something worse than a flat tire I hit the LBS. Heck the last time I had a flat tire I took it to the LBS were they diagnosed a nasty little slash in the sidewall that I could not find. John Kane Kingston ON Canada |

As George Sheehan wrote about commuting by running, if you are in balance and healthy, your sweat doesn't stink. In fact, it cleanses. |

Survey for Commuters and Practical Riders
I can answer your survey with one statement.
It's been my observatiopn over the 37 years I've been riding that the more practical, designed for the non professional cyclist a product is, the more likely it will fail. Because if the latest TdF big-name doesn't use it, no one will buy it; its not "cool" enough. It's really no different that with automobiles. Look at how many big auto makers started out by making practical, affordable vehicles omly to have completely abandoned the concept in favor of more "powerful", "sportier", "luxurious"... - - Compliments of: "Your Friendly Neighborhood Wheelman" If you want to E-mail me use: ChrisZCorner "at" webtv "dot" net My website: http://geocities.com/czcorner |
