Default Fork or forks?

Whenever I see a fork that has three tines instead of four, I call it a
threek.

ROFL!!

I've got some small ones with three tines--I use them as herring jar
tools. I'll not be able to use them now without giggling. Thanks.

I get a "permission denied" type of error there.

Access Verboten--but you're obviously referring to a trident, a handy tool

Is it "a carbon fork" or "a pair of carbon forks"? And in an accident,
is "the fork" bent, or are "the forks" bent?

Just wondering...

It is A fork.

They ARE fork blades.

Think about the utensil you eat with. It is A fork (singular) with
tines (plural.)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^
So, I guess it's not hard to imagine what a "fourk" would be.
