TACX trainer - new or old bike?
I have more or less stopped using my TACX trainer 'cos its such a bore
swapping my bike on and off it depending on the light and/or weather. I have decided to invest in a basic bike that only needs to be good enough for indoor use. I am undecided whether to spend £150 odd quid on some horrid Halfords "super racing bike" or to trawl ebay until I find an old but serviceable "proper" road bike that's big enough for my long legs. Ideas? |

Old bike definitely and spend some money on a comfy saddle instead. You could even use a bike that has been frame or fork damaged. I recently (York Rally) got two very nice bikes that are eminently road rideable, with far better gear than a Halfrauds cheapie, for £60 the pair. -- Tony "Anyone who conducts an argument by appealing to authority is not using his intelligence; he is just using his memory." - Leonardo da Vinci |
