I am beginning to suspect that Friedes dropped a kettlebell on his
head.

Or was he always obtuse and had no understanding or irony?

I missed the accident. Give the guy a break--he's very knowledgeable
and helpful on some of the music newsgroups. I don't always grok irony
either...
