What could inspire more trepidation than "We're from the
government; we're here to help you" ?

I see what you mean. I'd just use another route. If they did that kind of thing all over, I'd go all anarchist on it.

to me, the way I read it, it does not seem at all an unreasonable
plan. I am against bike lanes; but I am not out to risk my life or
**** off drivers either

gee whiz reads like the Gov cares which is what the party line is, no ?

however, I would also read that....at a safe dostance from the drunken WI driver. the cyclist may find an alternative and safer route from A to V

'like' if the traffic flow needs explaination.....

there's a beaut in LA....stupid observation No 2876....you turn of the N-S interstate onto 205 loop....turn off onto 605/805 ? for I-10. ROLLING DOWN THE HILL WITH 250 OTHER CRAZY PEOPLE....the signs say West right, LA straight on...

The sign and turn for I-10 to Yuma is under a weenie 1960 bridge anrrow 2 lane, and the I-10 turn is right there ! ON THE LEFT ! divinity deleted ITS ISLIP ...

LIKE YOUR FENDER TO FENDER AT 65 UNDER A BROOK BRIDGE and you now go left not right.

The key is, "Robbie Webber...said bicyclists are not required to use a
bike lane..."

So ride as a legal vehicle operator, ignoring the bike lanes. And let
people know that doing so is the best way. Lobby against weird bike
facilities (currently touted as "innovative bike facilities").

Here's an excellent talk on the problems that bike lanes impose, and a
solution to those problems. I think it's well worth half an hour of
watching & listening, and worth sharing.
