Default Chain cassette compatability

Simple question. I have a Sh. 7 speed cassette (UniGlide on my tourer,
HypeGlide on my MTB). What's the narrowest chain that will work with
these?

IMO, if the pitch is the same for all chains 7 to 10 speed then it
doesn't really matter how narrow the chain is. But, I think the
narrower and lighter the chain, the weaker it is.

Best will be a so called '8s' chain, like a Sram PC-48...

If this is an 'indexed' system, a click shift system, the width of the
chain makes a huge difference...need the proper width. If the shifter
is friction then any chain would work, of course. i have used a 10s
chain on my DA 7s friction shifter setup w/o problem.
