I'd like to preface this by saying I'm _not_ making excuses. My hop
height sucks. My best hop height ever (landed sif and si) was about
40cm. Now I want to know what am I doing wrong. Specs: 5'2", 1.5meters;
110 pounds, 50kg; Quax trials uni. How do you "high hoppers" distribute
your weight? Is all on the pedals;seat;or neither? Also, whenever I
tuck, my knees just stop bending and I can't tuck any further. And I
know, just practice, but I've been working on this for months.AND IT"S DRIVING ME FLIPPING INSANE

yea that is true though

some people are just born better at jumping but with practice anyone
can be as good as anyone

if im really annoyed with something i just keep doing it over and over
until i think to myself--"im not alowing myself to move from here till
i have done this!"-
it hasen't failed yet-(although sometimes im there a long time...)

Be thankful! I literally just started today at trying to hop over
something. The best I did was over a 3" pipe laying on the ground. What
is that? 7.5cm's??? I would be stoked to hop 40cm! You will certainly
get better if you keep working at it. Sometimes I find if you do take a
couple of days off and get off your own back you will do better when you
try again. Keep up the good work!

A lot of good recommendations.

The opposite can also help. If you are just getting frustrated, you
probably won't be able to do it. Give up on it for a while and come
back to it later (a half hour, day, or month later).

Try different objects and don't measure their actual height. Knowing
how close it is to your max can psych you out (if it's under your max
knowing it's height may give you more confidence if you're in a
positive state of mind).

Compress the tire more.

Hop up w/ the balls of your feet on the pedals (bad for drops) and use
your calves to compress the tire more.

Hop up & down stairs 1, then 2, then 3, etc. at a time w/ 5 or less
prehops, then 3, etc.

When hopping stairs, only ride on the edge, as if it's a skinny. Some
have painted strips on the edges making it easier to know if you are or
aren't where you want to be.

Squats (hit but on tire) and squat ride.

(Good to improve overall trials skill but not so much for hop height)
Seat drag/push.
&
UW.

Ride everywhere and never just ride anywhere. If you can ride where you
are going within a hour, do it, and if you can do a trick 50-75% of the
time do it along the way.- Bob Burnquist

@the helpfull people, thank you for your tips, it is much appreciated.
You empathized my frustation and understood that I have been practicing
for months. Next time I ride I will be sure to utilize these!

@the unhelpfull people, why are you mean to me? And what attitude
twoards others? If you cannot (or in danni's case, will not) give me
hopping advice, why not attitude advice so I am better in the future?.

Again, thank you for your great input! (I have no objects to hop onto
at camp, but I do feel a difference in regular hopping already.)

Peace out,
Jeremy
