Right! Most people around here don't know that - they thing Sram only
works with Sram R.derailers...
2:1 trigger shifters look good.

Thanks,

PS - I've found some "old" XT 8 sp shifters online.

well, if this is on that level you could attempt to quantify use times
and conditions for each cog - not hard just cog think

Someone asked:

Something else came to mind: can I mix road cogs (from an 8 spd
cassete) with MBT cogs (also from an 8 spd cassete)??

There's no such thing as a "road" sprocket or an "MTB" sprocket.

Tha's a false distinction fostered by the marketeers.

Hi Captain,

I was wondering, if the fact that most of the cog are held together,
by screws, or something else, helps distribute the load by the hbu
part where the cassete seats, and how that distribution would be lost
if you break the "bond" between most of the cogs, and therefore put
abnormal pressure on both the cog you're using, and the small part of
that where that cog seats, as compared to distributing that pressure
by most cogs, and the most of the hub where they seat...

Does that sound clear?

Anyway, the fact that the last 2 or 3 cogs are not "bond" to the rest
of the cassete ruins my theory ... or is that just a error in the
distribution of efford concept??

Cheers,

Personally, I think they should have stopped at eight if not seen.

It's clear, but it's another imaginary problem.

This is an issue if you're unwise enough to buy a hub with an aluminum
Freehub body. That type of hub needs to have the larger sprockets on a
_spider_ module...just having individual sprockets bolted together
doesn't distribut the load significantly.
