Bottom Bracket Bolt for Specialized Sirius (Cable Guide)
I have a 90's vintage Specialized Sirius road bike. I had to replace
the cable guide beneath the bottom bracket, and there was not bolt. Can anyone tell me what size bolt I need to attach the guide to the bracket? Phil |

Your local hardware store will have both for cheap (20-50 cents each). Pick 'em both up and use the one that works. Mark J. |

The cable guide is just a plastic plug with a small hole for screw that expands it enough to keep it in place. By eye, I'd guess it's maybe a 3mm screw. |

Considering the terrifying stresses involved, I would try a daub of some random adhesive I had lying about the house. |

Got to a decent bike shop and have them thread that hole to a more common size and replace the guide with one that has a teeny bolt. |

The old guide had a small post that fit tightly; the new guide has two holes, no post, so nothing to hold it. The hole isn't so small, though--it is at least 6 mm--a 5 mm bolt won't hold it. |
