Default Tacks on the Tour de France -- how tacky can even the French get?

Thirty carpet tacks were deliberately thrown on a climbing stage in
the Pyrenees today in the Tour de France to hold up the defending
champion Cadel Evans, who got two punctures and was seriously
delayed.

Fortunately the yellow jersey, Bradley Wiggins, a true sportsman, got
his team to neutralise the race so Evans could catch up, and everyone
except the small front pack of specialist climbers, whose thrilling
exploits today will make no difference to the overall standings of the
top ten, will have the same finishing time.

The saboteur didn't give whoever he supports an advantage, he just
ruined the day for almost everyone. Irresponsible scum is everywhere.

And noting Evans chances are dwindling, it seems like adding insult to
injury. If those responsible are caught, they deserve to be held in the
stocks, and to have rotten fruit and eggs thrown at them.

Scum indeed.

Wiggins earned respect.

More like a chemical weapon. Indiscriminate. Astana rider crashed and
had to abandon. These sins will be met by a guilty conscience for eternity.

years ago, forgetting the driver's last name, NASCAR spectaters climbed down from the stands onto a crashed car, driver dead....from a heart attack ? scavanging souveniers of the wreck.

I assume not many were French.

I suspect that NA$CAR is not too popular in France, despite being run by
the France family.
