especially for XC, cyclocross, etc. motorcycle racers use slick tires
on dirt all the time, why wouldn't it work almost as well on a bike.
it's actually been happening much longer on bicycles, and on much
narrower tires than your average mid or high-end MTB, too. all to the
great displeasure / denial of people like you know who.

I really must interject here..... Knobbly tyres are used for grip and grip
is needed on both front and rear tyres, you try stopping a bike with slicks
at high speed on an uneven surface and see what happens.

MV, stop clutching at straws, take your head out your f**king arse and do
something decent for the planet, like stopping the ozone from wasting away
and flooding the planet. What will be of your habitats then, fool?!

BS. I have never seen even ONE mountain biker using smooth tires. It would be
stupid.
