Default Shocking police chase footage shows speeding driver narrowly misscyclist in Wimbledon

A driver breaking the law? Surely not.
QUOTE:
Shocking footage shows a motorist narrowly miss colliding with a cyclist during a dramatic police chase in Wimbledon tonight (June 30).

According to eyewitnesses, around 15 squad cars were involved in the operation, which sped down Hartfield Road at around 8.30pm.

The vehicle - a 'small Vauxhall convertible' - had failed to stop for officers 15 minutes earlier in Merton.

Footage from the scene shows it heading the wrong way down (SURELY NOT - SM) Hartfield Road.

The vehicle appears to narrowly miss a cyclist heading in the opposite direction, close to Wimbledon Station.

Two men were arrested following the incident, police have confirmed.

According to residents, the Vauxhall was brought to a halt after being deliberately hit by a police car.

Police dogs were then used after a suspect made off from the scene on foot.

A police spokesperson said: "At approximately 8.15pm on Tuesday, 30 June officers indicated for a vehicle to stop in Merton.
Police brought the Vauxhall to a halt.

"The car did not stop and an authorised pursuit was initiated.

"The pursuit concluded in Hartfield Road, SW19 at approximately 8.30pm.

"Two males were arrested for offences including dangerous driving; affray and possession of an offensive weapon.

"Enquiries into the circumstances continue."

I can see why one would complain about the driver (assuming he was a
properly-qualified driver and not just a cyclist joy-riding in a stolen
car) failing to stop.

I can see why one would complain about the manner in which he
controlled, or failed to control, the car's direction and speed.

But why complain about his not hitting a cyclist?

INCLUDING dangerous driving?
What else did they get done for, one wonders?
