GOOD for Your CORE ?
trailguy wrote: I agree, the unicyclist core is working while riding. More so with trials and muni, etc. Still, I would like to know where the majority of our balance comes from. Just riding the uni around: - Are you balancing more with your legs & feet? - Or are you balancing more with your core? Thanks, Bill. Just riding around, I think the balance is with your (my) legs. I, too, have had "core" comments but I don't feel any core muscle strain. Maybe Grandmaster 2T's admonition to "relax" has worked. -- Wheel Rider A man can fail many times but he isn't a failure until he begins to blame someone else. - Waite Phillips ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Wheel Rider's Profile: http://www.unicyclist.com/profile/10656 View this thread: http://www.unicyclist.com/thread/44326 |

GOOD for Your CORE ?
I do hear this occationally but nowhere near as often as "Where's the other wheel!" About a 10:1 ratio When I was learning after practicing for an hour it felt like I had done 500 crunches (which I have done before over an hours time). Also after my first muni ride my obliques were sore. I have noticed benefits from doing extra core strengthening exersises. When I've been doing my half hour routine, I can ride faster, smoother over rough terrain for longer with fewer and safer UPD's. tholub wrote: But try idling a big wheel! He said at speed (fast). Sure at slow speed or tecknical terrain it would be tough. -- skilewis74 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ skilewis74's Profile: http://www.unicyclist.com/profile/12404 View this thread: http://www.unicyclist.com/thread/44326 |
