Colorado Cyclist has some exceptionally good equipment but the prices are exceptionally high. If I'm rich I look closely. But I'm poor now.

Colorado is under wrecks on incidence/pot, Cols nabs not so much.

We were surprised by an amicus brief filled by the Feds for Colorado against Cols more conservative...and work related..nabs in court actions against bled over state lines.

NJ/Pa once had an extremely serious cross border auto accident problem with NY's 18 year drinking laws...

This morning on the San Francisco bay bridge a car hit a motorcyclist at about 3 am. Supposedly driving under the influence wasn't involved and yet there was NO comment when looking at the car the whole front end was smashed in and the windshield plainly had a hole where the motorcycle helmet went through it. The speed limit on the bridge is 55 mph and in order to do that the car had to be traveling at 100 mph or more.

Not ONE person will talk about the extremely serious problems of speeding. Cops will do nothing about speeding. Car commercials glorify the speed of a vehicle. Magazine articles say things like "this is a great vehicle with 900 horsepower.

We are all cyclists and while I HAVE seen a large uptick in drivers driving politely around cyclists it only takes one speeder to spoil your whole day..

Three days ago I was riding on a narrow mountain road that let out onto a main road. The bike lane was between the right turn lane and the straight ahead lane. I could not get over to the bike lane and all of the cars were doing WELL over the speed limit. Finally I had to pull over and a car coming up from a quarter mile behind laid on the horn and sped up in an attempt to cut me off.

If something isn't done about these speeders who receive nothing more than a slap on the wrist, even if they kill someone, the roads will become so unsafe for cyclists to ride on that commute cycling will disappear again.

In fact, speeding is one of the main offenses that the police enforce.
They routinely ignore red light running, unsafe lane changes, failure to
use turn signals, failure to turn on headlights, illegal U turns,
failure to yield the right of way, etc., because speed enforcement is so
easy. I drive I-5 a lot. It's not speeding that's the problem, it's
passing on the right and cutting in at the last second before you come
up to a slow truck.

The bridges are an easy place to speed with very little enforcement. I
used to commute across the San Mateo Bridge in the non-commute
direction, and the speeds were very high.

THERE ARE RUMORS of legalization in Illinois. Given Chicago's violent problems a 'little' is a radical experiment in alturd states.

Speeders are not your problem. Speeding requires attention and usually skill more than what the average driver will provide in attention and skill. The average and below driver sometimes intoxicated or using drugs is the problem.

Bridge speeding is AAA. The Pulaski Skyway...The West Side Highway...here's a celebrity route: https://goo.gl/eW7tRI

leading to: https://goo.gl/4TSZ8Z the run to the Bridge.

there was a newsworthy bike deaths or 2-3 around here on the Causeways where their presence was questionable.

Actually, one might view this as "Darwin in action". Think about it,
once the less fit, the silly cyclists, are eliminated the present
terrifying death rate of some 700 cyclists a year will stop
completely, and mankind will be so much safer.

Alvin D.

back from posting a tire repair kit into Ford truck and before looking for 'Green Boots' in Google Images. There's a compendium.

I doahn keep track of who does what. I remember who should not have better than the innocent if this is possible, victims. I'll will look ahead to not have myself.

There are innocent victim fatals on the 'race to the bridge' but riding on that stretch would not be my route fersure. Driving is aggressive and often with less than normal drivers. Florida has a high or highest per capita fatality rate, the lowest intelligence level, a very high violent criminal activity level

But say what are the search terms for a statistical readout on innocent and not so innocent ? as there are words describing the search but I'm not coming up with any ...

what is asked for is for any accident category not just cycle accidents.

If you're being passed on the right (in the US), you're probably in the
wrong lane.
