Default Wind-blocking pants

I'm looking for some simple wind-blocking trousers to go over my jeans
when I ride my town bike of a cold evening. Just some simple freakin'
ripstop nylon or nylon taffeta pants with a drawstring or elastic waist,
zippered cuffs.

Not Spandex cycling tights,* and not some high-tech Goretex mountaineering
pants. Pockets, waterproofing not required.

Why am I asking here? I'm running out of ideas.

I've checked nashbar, performance, sierra trading post, and campmor.

=============
* Short chubby men in tights are not pleasing to the eye.

Try GI Joes -- they have all sorts of weird over-pants, particularly
during hunting season. Get a pair of rubber waders or some cammo
pants! You could also buy a pair of simple cycling rain pants, which
would also block wind. -- Jay Beattie.

Dear Mike,

If the cuffs aren't zippered, maybe a pair of ankle clips will
suffice?

Cheers,

You may want to try searching for "powder pants' as in skiing. I have a
pair, its just a nylon shell
similar to this http://www.rei.com/product/748049

Mine are made by Powderline, which does not appear to be around anymore.

Cheers

ah hell, don't want the poor fellow looking poor....sorry, no all you
really need are just some larger running shorts like nike or addidias
have; just something a bit larger to fit over what you normally wear
to protect the wang area keeping the pecker more or less in place and
more importantly, in one piece

I found mine at Europe Bound, in the hiking section. They have zips to
widen them enough to pull on over bike shoes, and velcro to tighten
them up - but not quite enough, so I use reflective ankle straps too.
They're silicon impregnated nylon and repell wind, rain, and snow well.

How cold does it get there? I never needed anything more than jeans in
the icy north unless it was below 20F or so, and then I'd wear lycra
tights under my jeans. Works amazingly well. Try some silk long johns
if lycra ain't your thing:

I got the long undies, but I like the simplicity of suiting up in wind
pants compared with the more complicated (and necessarily private) process
of changing out of and back into long johns.

Pecker protection is important, of course. My knees get a bit chilly, too.
