Australian cyclist wins appeal; will compete in Athens

CBC SPORTS ONLINE - Australian cyclist Sean Eadie won his appeal
Monday against an infraction notice on drug trafficking charges five
years ago.

The decision should clear the way for the former world sprint and
Olympic team sprint champion to participate in the Athens Olympics.

Judge Jerrold Cripps made the ruling in less than four hours in the
Court of Arbitration for Sport in Sydney. Eadie was appealing a
decision by the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) to have his
nomination removed from consideration.

"There'll be procedures set in place (Tuesday) to have that withdrawal
invalidated so there's no further obstacle for him representing
Australia in the Olympic Games," Eadie's lawyer Bernard Gross told
reporters after the hearing.

Pretty typical of the way Aussies get in to any major sport, or any major place in a sport, through the judiciary.
Never by actually winning any thing.
We stopped competing against the Aussies years ago for that self same reason, always in the jury room, never out on the track and later the same problem on the road. If they aint moaning, there in the jury room crying.
