Di2
I've been trying to get the Di2 on my Colnago to work. It has shown connections of everything but the levers. It finally occurred to me that the underbar main unit was bad since that is the only thing that could cause the software to report both front and rear derailleurs, battery but not the levers. So I've ordered a couple of them. I should have bought them new but the prices are preposterous and I think that the only way that you can hurt them is to get water into the connectors. And of course that is far easier on the five connector unit I have than the 3 that I actually need.
If would have known this when I was up buying parts at the CCC training camp I would have gotten a couple at a steal. But instead I bought an entire Dura Ace Di2 set short the cranksets since Pros ride unbelievably high gears and the one compact crank they had was lost among a thousand 44/54's. Santa Rosa doesn't have particularly steep or long hills unless you ride out a LONG way and I sure would have liked to see Greg Avermat climbing one of the local climbs in a 54. I looked into the main office and I guess the guy that was in there was Jim Jim Ochowicz. You sort of expect famous people to look special and not a slightly overweight desk jockey. |

Disconnected and reconnected everything and it is now charging like crazy. I wonder if all of the problems stem from a dead battery that the Japanese in all of their wisdom refer to as "The Main Controller." |
