I have used the old Time Equipe pedals for many years (the ones that use the two-part cleats). I want pedals with comparable float (at least 10 degrees) and a realtively large platform. It would also be helpful if i didn't have to get new shoes; I have an older pair of Sidi Genius, the ones that use different plates on the soles for different cleat bolt patterns. Any recommendations? Speedplay Zero. If you have a 4 bolt Time set up, no..just bolt the cleat right onto the shoe w/o the 3 bolt plate first.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - i have the plate used for the older Time two-piece cleats and each part of the cleat has two screws/bolts. Is that what you are referring to? Also, would that work for the cleats that come with the Time RXS pedal? Those 4 holes are the same as the 4 holes in the Speedplay cleat w/o the 3 bolt plate for Look style shoes.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Do you know whether it will also work for the Time RCS cleat?- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - i meant RXS cleat As I replied earlier (it may not have been clear, though) to use the RXS cleat on an older Sidi shoe, you need to get the 3 hole adapter plate. I got mine he http://www.excelsports.com/new.asp?p...ajor=5&minor=6 Actually, the "adapter plate" is really just a shim that still uses the front 3 holes in the shoe for the "look style" mounting and the fourth hole (the furthest rearward) just has a screw in it. Now that I know this, I probably would've just made my own shim from the appropriate thickness of plastic and a couple of holes drilled in the right places. You could use your old "adapters" as a guide for cutting the outline of the shim. Just a thought. |
