Foodora and Wolt
In the "big cities" in Sweden and Finland
(i.e., the capitals and one or two others) one can now use a "smart"phone to order restaurant food straight to one's home. And not just the local pizza car, any restaurant! There are many advantages to this: you don't have to leave the comforts of your home and confront the outside world, you don't have to tell a fellow human what you would like to order, and you don't have to mind your table manners, clothes, posture, etc.! Seriously, the positive thing about it is that the food is delivered by bike, so there are now a couple of such jobs around. The salary is 100-110 SEK an hour - this is very low, tops ~($13, £10, or €12), and then there are taxes - however the job is pleasant enough, and it should suit people with projects, educations, and so on very well as such people still need a small income to get by. There is the German Foodora which has 350 people riding bikes, and the Finish Wolt which has 70. The Foodora bikes don't have chainguards or even fenders which is probably due to their continental influence, because the Wolt ones do. The riders wear colorful outfits with logotypes, and helmets. -- underground experts united .... http://user.it.uu.se/~embe8573 Emacs Gnus Blogomatic ......... http://user.it.uu.se/~embe8573/blogomatic - so far: 58 Blogomatic articles - |
