False, at least in Colorado. Years ago there was a ballot
initiative to
require vehicles with five or more vehicles lined up behind to
pull over
and allow the faster traffic to pass. It failed.

As you said...

The “rights” you speak of are a fallacy created in

your demented mind.

Specific Colorado Laws:
snip bicycle laws.

I said "vehicle" not bike. From the context of the thread you
seemed to be making a blanket statement regarding all traffic, not
specifically bikes. Unless the law has since changed, in Colorado
it is legal to poke along in a Winabagel, up a pass with a dozen
cars behind you. Sucks!

Indeed, which makes that law discriminatory, which is why I questioned
it's validity under US law.
Before screaming that ones chosen method of transport is not anything
that could be protected by andti-discrimination law, consider that
there are some people who (for whatever reason) are not capable of
obtaining a driving licence, and in many of those cases, it could be
due to a disability.

Accommodations for the disabled have no place in a free market society.

A completely free market has no place in a civilized society.

What are you, a Godless Commie?

I use the term "Godless Commie" as a parody of hysterical right-wingers.
I should probably put the "" at the end next time.

Godless implies the existence of god(s).
Commie? No. I see the obvious. A free market society is as functional
as a communist (marxist or lennenist) society. Government and market
must work together via the actions of the electorate consumer.
Are you a Christofascist? ;-)

My friend Ed Dolan over on alt.rec.bicycles.recumbent is always calling
me a "liberal whacko nut".

Cool! I kinda want a bumper sticker for my Honda Fit that says "Gun
Toting Liberal" but I'd have to buy the gun(s) and I have enough hobbies.

Oh yeah, on behalf of my autistic son...
**** You!

W H O O S H !

If Shawn did not fly off the handle, he(she?) would realize that my
statement did not (of course) necessarily mean I was I proponent of
such a free market society (as any regular of this group would realize).

Necessarily? Is that like when Obi Wan told Luke his father died
"from a certain point of view"? You guys sure like to use that "if
you were a regular" line. /rollseyes/

Well, I have engaged in enough off-topic political flames wars that the
regulars would know where I was coming from.

For Shawn's information, I have been diagnosed with Asperger's
syndrome, so I have a better understanding of what his son goes
through than most of the population.

He needs the sort of services a free market society has no place for.

To clarify for Shawn (since it appears necessary), I posted the
comment about the free market society as a complaint, not a promotion
of the idea.

Point taken. Perhaps if I were a regular ;-) ...

Ah well, so much for me being civilized.

No offense taken, since I was being a bit of a smart ass...

Thanks. If I read his post correctly (Hmmm...) perhaps you should go
straighten Phil out elsewhere in this thread. :-)
