Which universe did you say you were from? Were you able to read and understand what the cyclist said about the incident. Were you? Clearly. You did not understand. The issue is whether you even understood what the cylist is reported as saying. He saw an indicated signal and "assumed" that it meant something which, in the out-turn, it was shown not to mean. That is not to say that no-one else was at fault (that will no doubt come out in due course, either way). But the cyclist has *admitted* being at fault. Clearly you were not. I wasn't even there (were you?) Thank you for proving my point. So you were the cyclist who made the mistake. Ok. We all make mistakes. But most of us try not to blame others. |

Who was at fault? The lorry 'driver' or the victim? St Nugent's sermon about not going up alongside or pulling out ahead of someone based on information from indicators alone is fair enough. Most people know this to be bleedin' obvious. Except... there is nothing here to which this applies. In this particular case, the "complainant" (for want of a better term) plainly didn't know that. He stated that he ignored the indicated signal (meaning, incidentally, that it did apply). Â* Not a clever move, was it? Hmmm... getting out of the way of the wheels of a 40 tonne lorry isn't a clever thing to do. Oh well, if you say so. Is that what he said he did? He did. |
