According to the guy filming it, the margin was 35 minutes.

I wonder what the result would have been had the push bike rider
obeyed stop signs at roadworks, stopped at red lights, ridden in the
same direction as the traffic and kept off pavements?

Some months ago the son of a colleague claimed he could get from
Maylands Park in Hemel Hempstead to Watford Business park at 08:30 in
the morning and returning at 17:30 in the afternoon more quickly by
bike than car. As I had a week of doing a similar journey at the same
time we timed the common part of the route (just under 10 miles).
Averaged over 10 journeys the bike took 42 minutes, the car 23 minutes
for each journey.

Since the margin was a huge 35 minutes - the same. Also, I do believe it is illegal to use a hand held camera while driving which you seem to have not noticed.

McLaren 675LT vs. a Bicycle

McLaren 675LT = fanny magnet.

a Bicycle = laughing stock.

In America? Is it? The game of course is about as relevant as the
sequence of American bicycle messenger deadbeats who figured in a
recent BBC pro gramme on bike riding in London which aroused the ire
of many push bike riders. No one in their right mind would use a
McLaren for a short inner city journey any more than anyone in their
right mind would commute 50 each way miles on a push bike. I think my
experiment was a bit more realistic.

The totally inappropriate car or the cyclist breaking traffic rules? I
wonder.

It would have been much more had the cyclist not stopped for waffles on the way.
He did not want to humiliate the driver.
