No, at least my old Nuovo Record ('69) had sleeve bearings. They lasted a
long time, though. The steel Gran Sports and Records had ball bearings in the steel wheels. |

The derailleur was chromed brass and the idlers were, as you say, steel with adjustable ball bearings for which there is a special black steel flat wrench. The wheels were round when new and developed closely spaced cusps where the chain rollers bore on the periphery.
