Default Cyclo-cross world cup #7

Round seven of the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup takes place in Hofstade,
between Brussels and Mechelen in Belgium. The domain is cared for by
former world champion and co-presenter of the cyclo-crosses on Sporza
TV, Paul Herijgers. He didn't design the course, but it has his firm
approval. It's a classic 'cross, heavy with mud and sand. It had been
freezing in Hofstade the last few days but the night before the race it
started snowing and raining and the top layer of the course melted. It's
very wet and cold with some tricky patches still frozen beneath. A
couple of days training on very narrow tubes (road tyres even) made for
some deep grooves. Nijs and Wellens told afterwards they started on 32C
but switched to 34C tubes during the race. The perfect pressure was hard
to pick.

Thanks for posting those, Ewoud. The course conditions were a mess,
which made for a good race (at least for second and back - Nijs was strong.)

Dumbass -

Please do not instruct us not to be mindless. Such statements will be
automatically taken out by our brains' dumbass retention mechanisms.

thx for the video. First world-class cross race I've ever seen.
