What seems to be gaining ground. Mentioned in other forums such as here...

http://www.veloriders.co.uk/phpBB2/v...=437673#437673

My initial thoughts are that it sounds a fitting thing to do.

I did think of a minute's silence on Sunday; although this could be
misconstrued as just another p*****re; I'll be riding a reliability
trial along similar roads. But a black armband will convey the same
message. Nice idea.

No-one has done a black wristband as far as I know. Perhaps a good long
term way of registering a protest against the toll of cyclists on the road.

Black has already been done with the "livewrong" wristband
(

616211, or http://tinyurl.com/aqvjt), though no doubt many of those in
this group would concur with its sentiments.

The tragedy in Wales received such large coverage becasue it was rare
enough to be news. Wearing black wristbands, armbands, or whatever,
will convice people that it is normal.

Unfortunately:

"There are already several companies specializing in anti-wristband
wristbands, including Archie McPhee & Co., which sells black bands that
feature the seven deadly sins, along with the words APATHY and NIHILISM."

Actually, the current Archie McPhee deadly sin bands aren't black
(although I'm pretty sure they used to have black ones):

But this one is:
