Police plan to use stop and search at Royal Wedding.
Yet more police and State provocation? Presumably they will be
stopping and searching innocent people in the process, while using anti-terror laws as an excuse? Critical Mass happens to coincide with the Wedding day so it can expect that its right to pass and repass on public roads in Central London to be severely curtailed by this totally disproportionate wedding demonstration, which is bound to cause annoyance to many who have no choice in the matter and whose right to go about their daily business will be severely curtailed. What the police seem to forget is that State events such as this are an affront to all anti-authoritarians, who demand their right to protest politically against them without the police intervening and causing trouble. "...The Met plans to use stop-and-search powers and snatch squads to prevent trouble at the wedding on April 29. "We will not tolerate troublemakers who set out with the sole intention of causing disorder and committing crime," said a police spokeswoman. "Officers will respond swiftly to anyone seeking to mar this day of national celebration..." http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standa...celebration.do -- . Yet more police and State provocation? Its called maintaining public order you idiot. Presumably they will be stopping and searching innocent people in the process, while using anti-terror laws as an excuse? The terror threat will be very high during the wedding & in 2012 due to the Olympics. I'm certainly not a monarchist - far from it - but like most normal people I appreciate that there will be some inconvenience to ensure the safety of those who do wish to celebrate the wedding. Critical Mass happens to coincide with the Wedding day so it can expect that its right to pass and repass on public roads in Central London to be severely curtailed by this totally disproportionate wedding demonstration, With any luck yes. which is bound to cause annoyance to many who have no choice in the matter and whose right to go about their daily business will be severely curtailed. You mean the way Critical Mass causes annoyance to those who have no choice and whose right to go about their daily business is severely curtailed by a bunch of ****** cyclists? What the police seem to forget is that State events such as this are an affront to all anti-authoritarians, who demand their right to protest politically against them without the police intervening and causing trouble. They don't 'forget' **** for brains. They have to maintain public order. The police don't cause trouble, they prevent it. "...The Met plans to use stop-and-search powers and snatch squads to prevent trouble at the wedding on April 29. "We will not tolerate troublemakers who set out with the sole intention of causing disorder and committing crime," said a police spokeswoman. "Officers will respond swiftly to anyone seeking to mar this day of national celebration..." Quite right. My daughter will be on duty as lead paramedic in a MRT PO unit. Despite being trained specifically to work with police riot shield teams & equipped with body armour she will be risking injury from 'anti-authoritarians' 'demanding' their 'rights'. I PREDICT THAT DOUG WILL NEVER PROPERLY ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTION. What would happen if a bomb when off in the middle of a critical mass? Would you be whinging about 'police & state provocation'? Or 'stopping & searching innocent people'? Or 'severely curtailing their rights'? Of course you wouldn't you ****. -- Dave - The Medway Handyman www.medwayhandyman.co.uk |

He has already said that terrorists wouldn't attack a demonstration as it would dilute their protest to confuse it with another. So, by Doug logic, Critical Mass is quite safe from a terrorist attack. Colin Bignell |

I was of course referring to the daily business of ALL road users in London during the Royal Wedding event and including the business of CM's customarily held procession on the last Friday of every month, which it has been holding for the last 17years and which the Royal Wedding happens to be intruding upon with the aid of the police. -- . I didn't realise that pitifulmess went about daily buisness. What the police seem to forget is that State events such as this are an affront to all anti-authoritarians, Oh dear who demand their right to protest politically against them without the police intervening and causing trouble. Yes it's allways the police causing trouble isn't it, never your mates. "...The Met plans to use stop-and-search powers and snatch squads to prevent trouble at the wedding on April 29. I wonder if this event has been made public & the route advertised. Perhaps if they had just decided to go where they wanted without telling anybody. But at least the 'corking' will be legal. |
