Default 40 hole hubs

I want to get a 40 hole rear hub. My old Tourer has one and I'd like to
convert to a cassette hub.
Can anyone suggest where (if) they are available.
Wilfred

The only options I know of are Phil ($$$), White ($$$) and maybe a
re-spaced Shimano tandem hub, but that's just a guess whether it would
work out well. There are probably others.

Phil wood, the best and I can get you a XT tandem hub that I respace to
135mm...40 hole as well.

If the rear dropout spacing on your tourer is 130 or 135 mm, you are
in luck. If the spacing is not, you can have it cold set to 135.
Velocity, an Australian company, have/had some excellent 40 hole x
Shimano 8/9/10 compatible cassette bodies x cartridge bearing hubs
that were reasonably priced.

Should you have difficulty in locating the part, I have one here you
can buy, $100 US plus shipping.

It wouldn't be a particularly good idea to use a formula hub on a
touring bike.

The hubs have "Velocity" printed on them. I don't know if that is a
Formula hub or not. It seems to work fine on my tandem that has a
riding wt ~330 lbs.

Velocity hubs are Formula. They break sometimes.
