Default Critical Mass cyclist sues NYPD for $1.5M.

"A cyclist knocked off his bike by a rookie cop last summer is suing
the NYPD for $1.5million on Tuesday for trying to cover up the
shocking attack, which was taped and put on YouTube.

Lawyers for farmer Christopher Long, 30, are charging in papers to be
filed today in Manhattan Federal Court that former Police Officer
Patrick Pogan, 23, tried to conceal the truth about the July 2008
tackle.

Long was riding his bike through Times Square, part of a rally by the
cycling activist group Critical Mass, when Pogan - a former high
school football player - body- slammed him to the ground.

Pogan arrested Long for assault, resisting arrest and disorderly
conduct - claiming that he was weaving in and out of traffic and
refused to stop.

A video later appeared on YouTube showing that Pogan was unprovoked
when he threw his shoulder into Long's body.

The department fired Pogan in February for making false police
reports.

"Nobody would have cried foul if it wasn't for that video," said
Long's lawyer, Jonathan Moore.

He said Long is living in rural Wisconsin and working on a farm.

"There is psychological trauma, which explains why he is not living in
New York City right now," Moore said. "It is a terrible experience for
him to go through."

The NYPD declined to comment on the case"

A little bit like you Doug. Why have you started a new thread about CM
when you haven't finished answering questions arrising from previous
threads? Just in case you have forgotten the questions , or got lost in
the threads some of the the questions a-

Why do you feel the need to inflict unwanted loud music on people Doug?

Do you understand what a critical mass was meant to be Doug?

Why does google groups say "translate to English" about your posts if
you didn't use a Japanese character set Doug?

Doug, why won't you answer the questions Doug?

You forgot a question.

Doug, why is kettling ok when CMers do it to motorists, but not when
police do it to protesters at G20 and that sort of thing?

Because some people like it.

Do you understand what a critical mass was meant to be Doug?

Eh? Clarify.

I don't use a Japanese character set.

Doug, why won't you answer the questions Doug?

I have.

Its not kettling. Drivers are free to turn around and seek another
route and many do. When the police do it those contained are not free
to leave. Besides which police kettling usually lasts for several
hours and CM usually passes in minutes.

The police officer should have been promoted.

Ah I see. So, going back to that earlier thread then, your CM cyclists
are NOT being 'rammed', because they are free to get the hell out of
the way.
Damn, this equal treatment stuff really screws up your case eh Doug?

Kettling/corking. Same thing.

By your definition there's nothing wrong with kettling either, as the
protesters are free to turn round and leave.

Like dougs posts or not, it's a pretty silly comparison

No they aren't. The whole point is to contain them in a small area
