Basically, the only thing wrong with USPS is their delivery people, in
some places in the US. Outside the US, they deal with whatever the
national postal service is, and mostly, the package delivery guys from the
national-formerly-government-postal-service are as good as anything fedex
or UPS or DHL will have -- at least that's my experience.

Roger that. Used to ship cross-border between US and Canadian offices.

UPS would fruck up about 9 of 10 times. Lost, or damaged packages.

USPS (handed off to or received from Canada Post) was A-OK 9 of 10 times.
I've learned to have a huge distrust of UPS...

Oops, as in "Oops, your fragile and valuable laser head is shattered bits
of glass now", is not highly regarded by most people who ship fragile
stuff, no.
