Fallen off ? It must be someone else's fault.
Cyclist falls off while riding along a promenade (note the word) and
demands that railings be put up to reduce the effects of cyclist stupidity. What next? Cushions all over the beach? I feel a Compo. claim on the way ? http://www.canterburytimes.co.uk/rai...ail/story.html |

The taxes we all pay already go to the same sort of road-safety improvements; if a particulary dangerous place is identified, why should that part of the road network not get the attention it so clearly deserves? Cyclists are sponging freeloaders who don't pay road tax - why should any of that money be spent on them? |

"Road Tax" (as you call it - the correct term is Vehicle Excise Duty) has nothing to do with roads; it is instead a voluntary payment that a car driver chooses to make, which goes into the general coffers. And as cyclists in the UK have a higher-than-average median income they pay more taxes than average. |

Andre Jute At least the cyclist didn't nearly kill someone else, such as in this story: http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2014/07...n_5623610.html |
