Default Take a bike on Sydney trains

Hi everyone,

Does the NSW transit authority allow bikes on Sydney trains?
What sort of restrictions if any?

Thank you

Concession fare in peak
Free at other times

Limit 2 bikes per 2 car set on "Endeavour" DMU trains, the ones that
run to Nowra, the Southern Highlands, and the Hunter Valley.. Same
deal as Sydney Ferries.. If the rack is full, get out and walk (err,
ride) or wait for the next service..

It's on their website..

Travelling with bikes and other wheels
Bicycles are permitted on trains free of charge. However, if part or
all of your journey is made between 6am - 9am or between 3.30pm to
7.30pm on weekdays you must purchase a child ticket for the bicycle as
well as a ticket for yourself.

Customers with bicycles are asked not to block doorways or gangways
when travelling on trains, particularly Intercity services. Thank you.

Riding bicycles, skateboards, scooters or roller blades on CityRail
stations and trains is prohibited.

Manual wheelchairs and battery powered wheelchairs and scooters used
by passengers with a disability are permitted on stations and trains.
See Accessing CityRail for more information.

Bicycles are permitted to travel on Sydney Ferries if there is room in
the bicycle racks - first in, first carried.

Yes.
Certain times, peak, you need a half fare ticket.
Otherwise free.

That is one of the reasons I bought a Dahon fold up bike. I put it in the
bag and they don't know what you have.
I go on the trains any time of day no extra ticket no bull manure no trouble
20 seconds to unfold the other side 10 seconds to put the bag away in my
little backpack. Take it on Qantas now 5 times they do not even know it is
a bike.
