Default Bike Ride on Mt. Tamalpais, California, Pictures

This was a Western Wheelers club ride that started at Tamalpais High
School in Mill Valley, climbed up through the hills of Mill Valley to
Four Corners, the junction of Panoramic Highway and Muir Woods Rd. We
continued south on Panoramic Highway, then turned north on CA1,
descended to Muir Beach, then climbed again over the ridge between Muir
Beach and the cliffs south of Stinson Beach. At Stinson Beach we turned
right and climbed Panoramic Highway to Pan-Toll Rd., continued uphill to
Ridgecrest Blvd., then west on Ridgecrest to the end of the road at the
Mt. Tamalpais East Peak parking area. We returned west on Ridgecrest
then descended Fairfax-Bolinas Rd. to the Lake Alpine Dam and continued
on to Fairfax. From Fairfax we headed west on Sir Francis Drake Blvd.
up the steep side of White's Hill, then down the San Geronimo Valley
into a stiff headwind, then detoured off of the busy road onto the bike
path in Samuel Taylor Park. We returned to the main road at Platform
Bridge and climbed over the short hill to Olema and then headed north to
Pt. Reyes Station for a break. Our return trip took us northeast on Pt.
Reyes-Petaluma Rd. past Nicasio Reservoir, then south on Nicasio Rd.
through Nicasio, then over the short hill to San Geronimo where we rode
up the concrete slabs of the old road past Woodacre to rejoin Sir
Francis Drake Blvd. for the climb up the easy side of White's Hill.
From Fairfax we stayed on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. to Kentfield, then cut
over to Magnolia on Bon Aire past Marin General Hospital and rode the
usual bike route over the hill from Corte Madera to Mill Valley. (86
miles; 7000 feet climbed)

Thanks to Piaw Na and Miguel Guterres for taking a few of the pictures
in this album.
