Yeah, Whitesnake is pretty awful. But I'd say that ZZ Top prior the "Eliminator"
record were quite alright.

Yeah, Whitesnake is pretty awful. But I'd say that ZZ Top prior the "Eliminator"
record were quite alright.

Three of their 4 top ten chart placements are Eliminator and later
albums. This probably explains why I can't stomach commercial radio.

albums. This probably explains why I can't stomach commercial radio.

I guess it says something about the public: they decided to like ZZ Top after
they'd gotten crappy. "The masses are asses." (Or: "The Roar of the Masses Could Be
Farts")

Personal preferences. I think the records from Eliminator on were too processed
sounding and they came across as *really* aiming for that mid-'80s MTV audience. Sort
of bland and predictable. It just didn't have the same appeal as, say, "Just Got Paid
Today" or "Heard It On The X." But it all gets down to personal preferences.
