LeMond busted for speeding. I'm surprised he didn't acuse the cop of
doping.

Did you see the show about him on OLN Tuesday night? In 1991, when Lemond
couldn't perform at his old standard, it was because everyone else was
suddenly doping. Also, he says nobody today can be riding the way they do
without doping and that Lance is a liar to claim his work ethic sets him
apart. (He didn't name Lance, but it was clear he was making a
thinly-veiled reference to him.)

He may be right and it may all be true. Still, it made him look/sound
rather pathetic.

We know Greg was a bigger talent than Lance will ever be.
If he never had the hunting accident he would have won
the TdF in '87, '88, and '91.

Lance has never climbed with such passion as Greg put in
during his battle with Hinault up Alpe d'Huez or his ascent
of Luz Ardiden in 1990.

We know now that by 1989 Greg was having trouble with
cellular oxidation due to a decrease in Heme production.
This was from the retained lead pellets interfering with the
dehydration of aminolevulinic acid and the incorporation of
iron into the protoporphyrin molecule.
