Default Converting my old road bike to...?

Does it make sense to modify my old aluminum cyclocross/road bike into
a commuter or some other utility bike? The frame, which is a bit
small on me, is aluminum with the kind of slanted top tube
characteristic of its type, but it's equipped with an old but fully
operational Integra group, froglegs breaks, and, because it seemed
originally designed for cycylocross, here's plenty of room for knobby-
ish tires. I know I could keep it like it is and use it as a training
bike but I'm not much of a racer these days and I was hoping to have
some fun with it, maybe making the ride less aggressive and more
speedy but comfortable. Any ideas?

I think you have a good idea. By making it a commuter or utility
bike, the smaller frame might work to your advantage because you will
probably be able to get on and off it more easily when wearing baggy
pants, or clothing other than 'cycling' clothing.

Anyway, thats what I find with my commuter bike.

Lewis.

If it's comfortabe to ride, "ye olde clunker" makes the best possible
commuter. No worries about wear and tear, riding in adverse weather,
thieves stealing yoiur prized machine...
