Default Tour Down Under swaps yellow for ochre

More interruptions to your TdF coverage, but this is *very cool*.

Organisers of the Tour Down Under in Adelaide have scrapped th
traditional yellow for the leader's jersey, switching to ochre.

They say the new colour has more traditional links with Australia.

In launching next year's event, South Australian Tourism Minister Jan
Lomax Smith admitted some cycling purists could be unhappy with th
break in tradition, but said it would help promote the rac
internationally.

"A special tour jersey is really exciting because everyone associate
the yellow jersey with France, and the pink jersey with Italy and we'v
really established the Tour Down Under as a leader in the souther
hemisphere and an ochre leader's jersey will be an icon now aroun
world cycling," she said

IT's got to be better than having an Elvis impersonator singing
at the start of the last stage. 2004 ... -very- odd.

Heh, now who's wearing the brown jersey?

Varies from deep brown through tropical brown (also known as baby sh*t
brown) to various reds/oranges all the way through to white. Just types
of inclusions in sedimentary rocks really.

I can't actually say I've seen ochre in the shade of orange that they're
using but it doesn't look too bad. Kind of a Maillot Juene covered in
bulldust. Sort of fitting really.

Cheers
