Child cyclist killer faces yet more jail time

James Boffey should have gone back to prison last July, by order of the Home Office, but went missing and has not been seen by authorities for almost seven months.

Now, 31, he was jailed in 2011 for his part in a six-month spree of terrifying robberies at plush properties across the northwest, sometimes confronting couples in front of their young children.

Joining up with the notorious Bridge brothers - who had links to Liverpool, St Helens and Widnes - Boffey helped the mob who smashed through barn conversion windows and patio doors.

Safes were ripped out of cupboards and top-of-the-range jewellery and valuable cars were stolen in districts of Warrington , including Appleton, Croft and Culcheth.

Boffey had a previous conviction for speeding and killing a 15-year-old cyclist in Dorset in 2002, controversially being handed a mere £200 fine.

He got six years for the robbery spree, but was released from HMP Liverpool last March to serve the rest of his sentence on licence."
