Cyclist Dies After Falling From Bike
"A cyclist was killed when he fell from his bike into the path of a truck on the NSW mid north coast. The 66-year-old man was riding his bike on Victoria Street at Taree when he hit a car door just before 10.30am (AEST) on Thursday, police said. After hitting the door, the man fell from his bike and into the path of the truck, suffering massive head injuries and dying at the scene." http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=64709 Interesting language "Cyclist Dies After Falling From Bike". The writer seems to think that being crushed by several tonnes was only an incidental factor in the incident. And the car door, it seems, was of no significance and was just standing alone in the middle of the road minding its own business when the stupid cyclist ran into it. dewatf. |

Wait, here comes one of those "we don't have the facts" arguments... although the incident as detailed in the article is not very well summed up in the headline - and that is a fact. Just imagine - the cyclist may have been keeping further left to allow room for the truck to pass, when some dumb fscker opened their door without looking. That's really sad news. Stay safe, everyone. Tam |

Stay safe, everyone. TamI think dewatf was commenting on the biased language of the reporting. Many people only read the headlines. The headline should have read something like: ``Cyclist dies after colliding with car door.'' Whilst not conveying the full facts (it's a headline) it paints a more accurate picture than ``Cyclist dies after fallilng from bike.'' -- EuanB I thought my first paragraph said that. Tam |

its a sad headline and clearly opinionates against cyclists. "*-Driver cardoors cyclist and death results"-* might be a more telling headline, It's probably better than "Cyclist Dies After Riding On Road" which is probably what they wanted to say. P -- Peter McCallum Mackay Qld AUSTRALIA |
