A VAN driver has been assaulted by a cyclist he narrowly missed in an
incident in Bletchley on Thursday.

At 12.10pm, a 52-year-old man was driving a white Citroen Berlingo van, with
Appetito branding on it, along Windmill Hill Drive. As he approached the
junction of Buckingham Road, he braked sharply to avoid a cyclist who
crossed in front of him.

The cyclist then got off his bike and started hitting and kicking the van.
The victim got out of the van, and the cyclist started punching him in the
face, before putting him in a headlock and dragging him to the floor. The
cyclist then rode off.

The victim sustained bruising to his face and knee.

The offender is white, 5ft 10ins, of athletic build, and around
24-years-old. He was wearing black cycling shorts, a white and grey fitted
top with stripes on the sleeves and black sunglasses.

Anyone with witnessed the incident or recognises the description of the
offender should contact PC Suzi Downing via the 24-hour Police Enquiry
Centre on 101.
