It is the second time in five years that Quin has broken a bone in her neck - she will be in a brace for up to 10 weeks. She says she is feeling very lucky and is determined to get back on a bike again soon. Quin, 30, also broke an arm in a World Cup race in Spain and needed further surgery after the Rotorua world championships in August. === I am working on creating wildlife habitat that is off-limits to humans ("pure habitat"). H***** had been hiking with a companion when the two of them got lost after dark in 'Opihikao in Lower Puna. The 46-year-old woman told police that she heard a splash and Holland stopped responding to her calls. Police recovered the body Friday morning at the bottom of a 100-foot cliff.

The fact is that both activities can be dangerous. I prefer to concentrate on the environmental aspects of activities, and everyone agrees that mountain biking is no more damaging to the environment than hiking.
