headset question
I'm curious in regards to the term "standard cup" for headsets. Does this
mean they're threaded? Threadless? Integrated or zero-stack? Would someone kindly clear up what a "standard cup" means? |

Would someone kindly clear up what a "standard cup" means? It refers to headset cup-&-cone bearings, and has no other relationship to fork retention in the headtube. A standard cup has 12mm of depth. IIRC a "deep" cup has 22mm of depth. There exist specific tools for installation and removal of either type of cup. The search engine of your choice would no doubt cough-up further and more detailed info for you than I could succinctly provide in this post. cheers, Tom -- Nothing is safe from me.
