Quite a reasonable article considering some **** has stolen his bicycle.

Why would he steal his own bike?

Good article. I for one am happy to see a politician cycling not for a
green image or PR reasons. Boris is a /real/ cyclist.

I would say its a very good article.

I doubt Boris will see his bike again, and at least he has enough income to
be able to afford another one. But reducing cycling to those with enough
spare income to buy regular replacements against theft is not a solution.

One million regular cyclists, and 439,000 bikes stolen every year? I
wonder what the response would be if the same ratios applied to drivers
and cars?

And Adrian - if someone wants to leave a £600 bike on the streets they
should be able to leave a £600 bike on the streets.

Good article. Boris needs to support British industry and buy a
Brompton. Problem solved.

Problem solved.

Now if this bloke was stealing cars, I wonder if he
would have got the same treatment.

Excellent article, as is usual from him.

An interesting observation is the one:"...we all know perfectly
law-abiding citizens who have allowed their offside front wheel to stray
an inch outside the white line of the residents' parking bay and boom!".
Too right! It seems we are happy to allow countless millions of
motorists to be prosecuted for easily detectable and victimless
"crimes", whilst tolerating, or even passively /condoning/, those who
commit actions which have /real/ victims, and which inconvenience, and
even materially damage hundreds of thousands of people, and then suggest
that they themselves played a part in their own suffering by not
protecting their person, or their property properly!!!
