Default Ergopower 8 speed for 9 speed derailleur?

Hi everybody, I have a new set of Record 8s Ergopower and a new Racing
T (9s) rear derailleur. I would like to make them work together... can
I make the derailleur shift 8 speed properly with the Ergos as they are
now, or should I convert the Ergos to 9 s instead?
Thanks
Luca

Hi,
I'm running the same combinatiion (8 speed Ergo with 9 speed Racing T
derailleur) on several bikes with either a 7 speed or 8 speed wheel and
they work fine. No need to convert unless you want the 9 speed for some
reason like more gears or you've got the wheel already.

Use any Campag rear derailleu with any ERGO-all are intercompatible.
Put that 9s rd on, adjust and go ride.

Is it really that universal, or do you need any campag rear released since
ergo has been around?

I'm thinking of putting Campag 8s brifters on my 7sp Shimano junker as the
cassette spacing is the same, primarily because second hand ergo is cheaper,
and repairable to boot... But I guess I'll want a Campag RD, and I'm
wondering how old I can get away with.
