Good advice. It's also cheaper in the long run, and a lot less wasteful.

switch on the 300 used here bleeds energy in the off position-look
deeply into it's eyes after shutoff
after spraying with jiffy lube several times over 4 years-the bleed
became variable
i take the batts out at shutoff
otherwise outstanding light!! with excellent batt life using energizers
