Subway Pros at Valley of the Sun SR
After Valley of the Sun Stage 1 TT here's how they stacked up out of 93
starters: 65 Kevin Vanes (Subway Pro Cycling) 3.52 77 Todd Cornelius (Subway Pro Cycling) 4.33 79 Robbie Yost (Subway Pro Cycling) 4.49 80 Joshua Carter (Subway Pro Cycling) 4.52 88 Peter Femal (Subway Pro Cycling) 5.54 This was a 19k TT with the winning time of 23 minutes 21 seconds. It's pretty hard to get anyone on rbr to agree to much but I'm goin' out on a limb: I think I can safely speak for every past present and future rbr reader that these guys are racing clean. If not then may God, Jehova, Allah, Jesus and Dr. Ferrari help them. -Alec |

So now are we to assume that anyone who wins a race or does well is
doping?? Maybe the Subway guys aren't very good at TTs. Tom matabala wrote: "Alec Sander" wrote in message oups.com... Let's give 'em a chance before you hang them all out to dry. Time trialing is a speciality unto itself and no one was prepared to give VOS a real shot. That's coming after the team training camp leading up to Merced when the guys and gals actually get their bikes and kit. BTW, Ryan McKenzie (Subway) was 6th in the TT at Murrieta yesterday with his road bike and spoked wheels. He was selected and road with the Canadian National Team at Beauce last year supporting Dionne and the boys. Point is, there are decent-to-good riders on this team that may make something of their cycling careers long term because of this opportunity. Eveyone loves to take the **** out of these guys because of the quasi "pay to play" marketing of the team, when it's been well documented here, on the pages of RBR(!), that most D3's fund alot of their racing anyway at levels well above $4500. I don't know about you, but investing $4500 for a season's worth of NRC racing is not too bad for an up and comer needing the NRC exposure or the domestic pro trying to make a last stand. I know this is going to go on all season long and I'm not going to defend around every corner, so when the boys do go well, at least give them some credit. -Erv |

It isn't difficult to pick out the idiots in the set. 19 km in 23:21 is a 30 mph average. The Aussies are near the end of their season and they're smoking. The Americans are just getting up and it shows. But far be it from me to try to inject the slightest reality into the maundering of the Lafferty-ites. matabala wrote: "Alec Sander" wrote in message oups.com...
