news Tom Kunich Wrote: I have a whole lot of guns. Shotguns, rifles, revolvers, automatics - lots. I just put that quote through the Google translator and it came out with: "Poor little Tom has a very small penis." Gee, I just put that one through the translator and got "Anyone that might like the craftmanship of gunsor likes to target shoot, or is an investor that invests in rare guns or is a hunter scares me ****less and I want to cry myself to sleep." It's really too bad that you don't have the ability to believe that the framers of the Constitution knew what they were doing. I suppose you have a great deal more faith in Chairman Mao than Thomas Jefferson. |

"Steven L. Sheffield" ... On 11/17/2004 01:43 AM, in article , "Gunner" wrote: The ACLU tends to ignore immigration issues for the most part. Of course they totally ignore the 2nd amendment..so there is precedent. So does the NRA; or rather more than half of it. The NRA believes in only the following words, "the right to keep and bear arms" ... The Second Amendment reads "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." I'm trying to figure out what part of "well-regulated" means "no regulations whatsoever", which seems to be what most gun-rights advocates want. Well Regulated means Well Outfitted. Militia means "white men at least 18 years old". That's pretty obvious stuff when it was written in 18th century language. Also obvious are the words "the right of the PEOPLE". Too bad the hugely left-leaning ACLU largely ignores 2nd Amend. issues. -Ken The National Rifle Association (NRA) handles the 2nd amendment support pretty well, leaving the constitution and 26 other amendments to the ACLU. I think that if the NRA is so concerned about our liberty they should send some money over to the ACLU. |

Actually, the ACLU is about one part of the first amendment and not much else. Besides, if you could enforce the 2nd, the rest wouldn't be much trouble now, would they? Chas |

Chas I apologize in advance if I'm failing to recognize a joke. But... Go to www.aclu.org and look at the issues with which the ACLU is involved. They go far beyond the first amendment. |

Over a period of time, they've handled other things, but their primary thrust is as I've said. They're certainly not about 2nd Amend. issues, civil libertarians that they are. Chas |
