FYI. Yearbook pictures are taken in the fall prior to graduation in the spring. The yearbooks are produced sometime late fall, early winter. And available to be sold to the high school kids in Jan-Feb-Mar prior to graduation in May. So it is very possible and likely that kids pictures can and do appear in the yearbook and they do not graduate in the following spring. I highly doubt the people running the creation and picture taking for the yearbook are apprised of the student's grades throughout their senior year. There is NOT a checklist of 1. Did kid receive good enough grades and credits to graduate and receive a degree? 2. OK. Kid's picture is allowed into yearbook. 3. If NOT OK, then kid's picture is removed and expunged from the entire history of the high school. 4. So it is written, so it shall be done! And graduating high school is a very important and unforgettable milestone for a kid. A person can in fact forget absolutely anything, including his own name. You should be grateful that it hasn't happened to you, and perhaps should reflect from time to time that it might yet. Plus it's a simple binary situation. A person either graduated or he did not. If he did, the GED people would have told him "You don't need a GED, you graduated." Based on everything he says, Tom did not graduate high school. Indeed a person can forget almost anything but I can still recite by service serial number, my social security number and my drivers license number. Frank hasn't a clue what he talks about as usual. I assumed that since I didn't finish the final three months I didn't graduate. So I took that GED with that understanding. Eventually I discovered that since I was not in the "college prep" group, I had far more than sufficient credits to graduate. Frank's belief that somehow the people who give the GED are going to enter into a world wide search to see if you truly did graduate so that they can deny you the test and lose their money is about as smart as most of the things that Frank has to say. I respect what he knows but it is plain that he doesn't respect what he himself knows and tries to know things he isn't even capable of understanding. Things that he should be commenting on like testing forces on things, he didn't say a word. It isn't like that sort of thing isn't the bread and butter of a mechanical engineer. |

I suspect "enough credits to graduate" may be hiding something - like, having excess credits in typing classes, but not enough science credits to meet graduation requirements. Something like that. And the issue is not what Tom remembers now, post-concussion, when he's repeatedly demonstrated his lack of memory. The issue is that he pretends he didn't remember graduating way back when he took the GED test - a test people typically register for with plenty of documentation, then study hard to prepare for. I don't know when Tom claims to have earned his GED, but it usually happens when a person's in his 20s. I can't imagine a 20-something going through all that, totally forgetting he's got his diploma just a few years ago and doesn't need the GED. -- - Frank Krygowski |

Or extra credits in Wood shop, Auto shop or Machine shop, you know, all of those things that you didn't know existed because you were going to be a mechanical engineer without the ability to turn a screwdriver yourself? Creative writing which was easy because I have read three libraries out by then.. Mathematics which was easy to absorb since it gives you a feeling for the real world which you entirely lack. Economics which they thought of keeping your household accounts in place when in fact it applies to national economics as well since the principles are the same. Though you don't seem to have any understanding of either. You remind me of my brother who spend every penny of his weekly salary because he had a retirement to rely upon. Until Calpers goes broke. Frank, I find it quite amusing that you have absolutely no understanding of the real world around you and that is why you became a college professor. In that position you don't NEED to know anything that happens around you. |

Tom, you need to study a lot more economics. National/Federal economics are a completely different world than household economics. Different universe. In the USA, Federal government, there is no balanced budget requirement.. Infinite spending and/or the Republican way of zero revenue with tax cuts to the wealthiest, is allowed. National debt and borrowing can continue forever as long as someone is willing to finance the bonds. Reagan and his supply side economics started the USA on this economic path. Cut taxes, decrease revenue, increase spending on military, increase national debt by an astronomical amount. Reagan supply side economics. Now with state, local governments, and personal economics, you do have to balance the budget. There is a limit on the amount of debt you can take on. Bankruptcy results when personal debt and economic imbalances are too great. |

Bankruptcy results when personal debt and economic imbalances are too great. Actually there is a limit to the debt that a nation can withstand. Greece comes to mind here. But, as you state, of course bankruptcy is not required, the currency simply becomes valueless. Look at Germany in the 1920's. In early 1922, 160 German marks was equivalent to one US dollar. By November of 1923, the currency would depreciate to 4,200,000,000,000 marks to one US dollar and they were issuing 20,000,000, 50,000,000, 1,000,000,000, and 5,000,000,000 Mark notes. -- Cheers, John B. |

Why don't you tell me everything about my finances since you're so intelligent and have access to my entire history? Anything Russel could pull out of his ass about your financial history would be just as truthful and accurate as anything we read from your rants. |
