Schwinn Paramount tools/goodies?

In the really old days when the Schwinn Paramount was a hand made frame of
Reynolds double butted tubing, and most components were Campagnolo (except
for stock brakes which were Weinmann and rims which were Mavic). In those
days the Paramount came with a small set of tools, crank puller, cone
wrenches, etc. Does anyone know when they stopped that? Or for that matter
when the old hand made Paramount frames stopped being made (as I recall in
Chicago) and were replaced by more mechanized manufacturing (located where)?

Jack, when Schwinn quit making Paramounts in its Chicago factory, for
a number of years they farmed Paramount manufacture out to Waterford
Cycles in Wisconsin. IMHO, some of the best Paramounts were made
there. (Maybe I'm biased because I have a Waterford Paramount.) I
believe they were still hand made at Waterford. It is my
understanding that Schwinn never mechanized the production of any of
its lugged, brazed frames, or its fillet brazed ones, because the only
bikes they produced by machines were the ones that were electro-
welded. I'm not sure if, or how long, Waterford kept using Reynolds
531 tubing, but at some point they started using Columbus SLX instead
because that's what my bike is made from. No tool kit came with mine.
I think I bought mine in about 1989, but it might have been an '87 or
'88 model, I'm not sure. I really like mine, and it's my main bike.
It's a little dated, and heavy compared to a modern composite frame,
though.
